UK Anti-Corruption Summit 2009

2nd-4th February 2009, London

When it comes to contributing to the global fight against corruption, the UK has been criticised as 'lagging behind' and 'lacking political will' according to a recent report by Transparency International. So far there has been zero corruption cases filed since the UK entered the OECD convention nearly 10 years ago. However, recent international regulatory pressure and a change in leadership at the SFO is likely to mean a significant change in pace.

This move has not come too soon judging from a 2008 PricewaterhouseCoopers study which found that corruption has affected business dealings amongst almost two thirds of senior executives globally. More and more the challenge to beat corruption is matched with an increasing pressure to conform. As the spotlight intensifies and the cost of corruption rises - why risk your company's corporate reputation?

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Siemens, Corporate Legal and Compliance, Compliance Operating Officer and Chief Counsel Compliance & Investigations, Dr. Klaus Moosmayer
  • BT Group, Head of International Governance & Ethics, Helen Ashton
  • Novartis AG, Head of Corporate Integrity & Compliance, Dan Ostergaard
  • OECD, Director for Legal Affairs, Nicola Bonucci
  • HSBC, Group General Manager - Internal Audit, Matthew King

Green Supply Chain Summit

21st-22nd April 2009, London

After bringing you the groundbreaking 1st Green Supply Chain Summit in 2008, we’re offering even more in 2009. Leading companies such as IKEA, Danone, Airbus will share their expertise – learn from their mistakes and benefit from their guidance.

With purchased products and services accounting for more than 60% of the average company’s costs, organisations are more vulnerable than ever to charges of “guilt by association” when suppliers take environmental shortcuts. Recent examples abound, including a decision by the world’s largest toy company to recall about 21 million toys manufactured by a supplier in China. The result: a $40 million charge, a tarnished reputation and significant disruptions to the company’s supply chain.

The 2nd Green Supply Chain Summit is the fastest way to acquire the vital knowledge, tools and information you need to create an efficient and viable green supply chain
