Companies still seeking sustainability

Report: despite economic pressures, most businesses plan to increase sustainability efforts

Nearly 60% of marketing and communications leaders believe their companies will place more emphasis on environmental sustainability initiatives during the next 2-3 years, despite the current condition of the global economy, says a US survey conducted by Fleishman-Hillard and the American Marketing Association. Over half of those surveyed believed that sustainability was vital to their company’s reputation, and 63% said that the Obama administration’s policies will accelerate the adoption of corporate responsibility programmes.
