Energy consulting on the rise

A Verdantix study released this week rates major energy consulting firms

With oil prices tracking back upwards once again, the energy consulting industry is continuing to grow, and independent analyst firm Verdantix conducted a study outlining which consultant groups are best for specific concerns. According to the study, ENVIRON and NIFES offered the best advice for energy efficient programmes; Inenco, McKinnon & Clarke and Power Efficiency led the way with energy procurement and risk management; Hurley Palmer Flatt were singled out as the best for design advice for enhanced energy efficiency; AEA, Enviros, ERM and WSP Group were amongst the best for on-site low carbon energy generation and the best carbon management services belong to ENVIRON, Enviros and ERM. Although there are 500 energy consulting groups in the UK, only 17 of the largest were selected for the study.
