Obama says time is now for climate change bill

US President Barack Obama claims the time is now for members of Congress to pass a new climate change bill that would add green jobs and technology

Obama said the US has been reliant on fossil fuel for too long and the country must take this opportunity to push forward to become more energy independent and efficient. The bill is expected to narrowly pass the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives Friday before moving on to the Democrat-controlled Senate. Republicans are against the measure, which would develop green jobs and technologies, fearing large energy taxes would handcuff businesses. Obama acknowledged the bill was "...going to be a close vote".
